Scrapbook 1 (1860-1868) comprised chiefly of clippings from area newspapers chiefly relating to the Civil War; Scrapbook 2 (1861-1879), principally concerned with political news and judicial proceedings; Scrapbook 3: covers local events from 1868-1904, with subjects such as 4th of July celebrations, dedication of Lawrence General Hospital, mayors of Lawrence, obituaries, history of Jews in Lawrence, local history essay contest, building dedications, and flood of 1900; Scrapbook 4: (1875-1892), includes articles about the Eliot Congregational Church, Lawrence Street Congregational Church, Trinity Congregational Church, and other religious organizations and churches, Merrimack Valley Street Railway, tributes to U.S. Grant, secret societies, schools and library, Pacific Mills, and various buildings and events; Scrapbook 5: (1890-1899) includes articles on topics such as Lawrence Street Congregational Church, United Congregational Church, Spanish American War, blizzard of 1898, cyclone (1890), fires, and several letters between Arthur D.
