The material in this collection document the second phase of the creation of Pemberton Park. It was called Pemberton Park Extension Workers' Park. It appears the owner of this material was Santo Nicolosi, the City Engineer at the time. He was involved with the project. Folder 1: The material in this folder was in the pocket of the binder. It includes a letter from the Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management, Peter C. Webber approving eminent domain for the project. The letter was sent to the President of the City Council, Francis Kivell. The date was May 1, 2001. A note at the bottom says "approval 6/5/01". There is also a hand written note mentioning possible purchases for the park and a business card for Maggie Super Church, executive director of Groundwork Lawrence. Folder 2: This includes a non-acid free folder that reads "Pemberton Park Extension Workers' Park". Includes a Family Service announcement and an announcement from Mass Highways dated 12/11/04. Folder 3: This folder includes a newspaper clipping from Rumbo, Eagle Tribune; notice of meeting to introduce the plans for the park Feb. 26, 2002 at Lawrence Heritage State Park; image of park; Mass. Highway Assoc. transportation bill; minutes, announcements of meetings, agendas, press releases, and notes of the Mass. Dept. of Environmental Management, Merrimack Valley Economic Development Council, Family Services, and Pemberton Park Committee (various dates); maps of the area; copy of a Mass. Environmental Board Bill (2002); printout of newspaper articles; and copies of emails received by Santo Nicolosi.
