The first two scrapbooks were compiled by Arthur D. Marble, city engineer and the third was probably also compiled by Marble but does not contain his book plate. The first two contain chiefly clippings pasted over pages of old books. Contents besides the clippings include letters, notes, printed notices, diagrams, copy of the registry of deeds, small maps, Board of Health notices, trade circulars, and specifications. The third vol. contains only clippings (many of which are loose and placed in an envelope. Most of the topics concern projects in Lawrence, but there is also material about other projects which Marble may have found useful for his job
