The first item in this collection is a loose leaf binder containing the "Rules and Regulations of the Lawrence Fire Department established by the Director of Public Safety". It was published Aug. 1, 1957. Written by hand above the title is "Deputies Office". Folder one contains a first document that is the Roster of Permanent Force then a two page Roster of Call Men. In the first are seven columns: Number, name, occupation, days, price per diem, amount, and date of appointment. The second has four columns: name, rank, salary per year, and date of appointment. The date of both is May 11, 1909. Folder two contains: Fire deaths, 1961-1996, apparatus roster, 1976, alarm reports and mutual aid, 1973, multiple alarms and fatal fires, 1973 to 2005
