Summary
This collection includes a small scrapbook (19 x 14 cm.) and eight black and white photographs. The scrapbook reads "Augustine Regan Co. K 23rd Infantry." The scrapbook is made up of 17 leaves of dark grey paper bound at one long end with red, white, and blue ribbon. The contents include newspaper clippings and one photograph. The clippings include poems, news articles about Augustine and his friends, Frank McNulty and Leon (Jean) Valcourt, masses held for Valcourt and Regan, return of Regan's body, citations of bravery, and the plan to name a square in Lawrence, Mass., after Corp. Regan. The photograph is of the "West End boys": Thomas J. (Reddy) Stephens, Fred (Brooksie) Harrison, Leon (Jean) Valcourt, Clifton Smith, Frank McNulty, and Hector LeFleur. Photographs depict soldiers (possibly in France), Army maneuvers, the Central Bridge in Lawrence, Mass., and Gus' grave. James (Jim Regan) is the donor of the collection
