Summary
Fire insurance valuation report entitled Properties of Franklin Associates, made for the company, by John H. Cuddy, Jr., another realtor and insurance agent in Lawrence., Includes letter stating that a schedule enclosed and made up by James E. Early, Jr., an engineer employed by O'Brien, Russell & Company, gives the value of the properties. The schedule includes present value of said properties, amount of fire insurance carried, and excess coverage, list of first and second mortgages, interest and taxes due, and other costs. The general recommendation of the report is to get reductions on the first and second mortgages, reduce taxation and insurance amounts, and sell off the properties. Includes map, photographs of each property as well as its general description, location, tax assessment, etc. The remainder of the material in the collection is not contemporary with the Franklin Associates report. Includes five black and white photographs (3 with negatives) appearing to be from the 1950s or 1960s of properties in Lawrence; real estate advertisements; and newspaper clippings
