Summary
Contains a copy of an official proclamation declaring that the westerly side of Broadway, the north side of Haverhill St., the west side of Margin St., and the south of Essex St. would be under a curfew starting at 8:00PM on Aug. 10, 1984. The curfew continued until Aug. 13. The proclamation was signed by Mayor John J. Buckley. Also includes a map of the area, record of applications for building and sewer permits, and a copy of an act (Chapter 435) of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts relative to the alleviation of the financial burden on the City of Lawrence by the Civil Disturbance of 1984 (dated Dec. 31, 1984). The collection also contains correspondence between Daniel F. Cahill, Jr., the Lawrence Community Development Director, Santo Nicolosi, Lawrence City Engineer, John J. Buckley, Lawrence Mayor, Frank Keefe, Secretary of the Governor's Office and others dated between Jan. 30, 1985 and Aug. 6, 1985; a newspaper clipping from the Lawrence Eagle Tribune (June 12, 1985) entitled: "Tenants cooperate, police don't, Hatch says"; notes (perhaps minutes) dating from Apr. 8 through May 9, 1985 discussing the work that needed to be done in the Oxford St. area and putting the work out to bid; newspaper ads for bids (Mar. 16 and 23, 1986); pipe cleaning equipment quote (J.F. McDermott Company; Mar. 11, 1985); notes "talk to Santo Nicolosi" (Feb. 20, 1985); Lawrence Office of the Purchasing Agent letter (May 3, 1985); map; letter Community Development Office (June 17, 1985); Chapter 435 section 1 acts of 1984 list of jobs and costs; correspondence with Albert Savastano, Water Commissioner, Charles F.
