The digital plans were a by-product of Ameresco's work to perform an energy audit and develop a self-funding energy and water-conservation program for the City of Lawrence. A portion of that program, including overhaul of the heating and cooling controls for the Main Library, is underway and related activity will appear soon. Ameresco needed building plans to do energy audits, and had a difficult time finding many of them for Lawrence buildings. The company routinely digitizes the plans borrowed instead of making paper copies.
