Big chill : The growing pains of seven college housemates from the 1960s who have drifted apart and then reunite at the funeral of a friend. Harold has "grown up" to be a running-shoe magnate; Michael, a gossip magazine journalist; Sam, TV's hottest private eye; Nick, a drug dealer; Sarah is a doctor; Meg, a lawyer; and Karen, a wife and mother in the suburbs. Stunned by the death of their peer, sensing their own mortality and the loss of their innocence, each takes the opportunity to reevaluate his or her life and reestablish their bond. Karate kid : Daniel, a fatherless teenager, arrives in Los Angeles from the East and faces the difficult task of making friends. He becomes the object of bullying by a gang of karate students when he strikes up a relationship with Ali, the gang leader's ex-girlfriend. Daniel asks Miyagi, a master of martial arts, to help him learn karate. Daniel then prepares himself both mentally and physically for the fight of his life. Natural : Nothing was going to stop Roy Hobbs from fulfilling his boyhood dream of baseball stardom. As a 14-year old he fashions a baseball bat from an oak tree. He soon impresses major league scouts with his ability. His talent also catches the eye of a sportswriter who eventually becomes instrumental in Hobbs' career. The appearance of a mysterious woman, however, shatters his dream. Years later Hobbs reappears as a rookie for the New York Knights and has an opportunity to share in their race for the pennant. Ghostbusters : When ghosts go on a rampage, only three men can save the world. Soon every spook in the city is loose and our heroes face the supreme challenge If you want your spirits raised, who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! Starman : An alien, from a distant planet, lands in Wisconsin and arrives at the remote cabin of Jenny Hayden, a distraught young widow. The alien (Starman) convinces her to drive him to Arizona, explaining that if he is not picked up by his mothership in three days he will die. En route, Starman demonstrates the power of universal love, while Jenny rediscovers her human feelings for passion. Gandhi : Follows the life of Mahatma Gandhi from his days as a lawyer in South Africa to his role as India's spiritual leader by using his philosophy of non-violent but direct-action protest that helped end British rule. Centers on the extraordinary man who fought for a nonviolent, peaceful existence and set an entire nation free. Tootsie : Michael Dorsey is a talented actor, but his demanding nature and stubborn temperament have antagonized every producer in New York. Now his agent insists no one will hire him. But Michael needs money - eight thousand dollars to be exact - and to earn it, he's willing to play the role of a lifetime. Blue lagoon : Two high school students become stranded on a desert island and must rely on each other for survival. White nights : A Soviet dancer, who has defected to the West, is suddenly trapped in Russia and must attempt to escape again
