Summary
Two prescription books. First book (1924-1925) is grey cloth covered cardboard with individual prescription forms bound in, the outside reading "Safeway Prescription file" (14x20x12 cm.). Most forms were preprinted, some with pharmacy on top, some with physician on top. When the physician's name on top, generally the name of pharmacy appears on the bottom. Includes some forms not preprinted. This book contains only opiates and was perhaps a way of documenting the distribution of this drug. Second prescription book (1904-1906) is much larger (30x24x16 cm.). Pages are bound in cloth covered boards with leather on the spine and corners. The spine has separated from the volume and reads "Prescriptions". Again there are a variety of doctors and pharmacists, with a few hospitals, one drug company, and one veterinarian. The most common pharmacies are Flynn's Forrest, Clark, and Greer. The most common doctors are Bain, Cahill, McAvoy, and Fleming. The prescriptions seem to be of a general nature
