Summary
There are five discs in this collection. The City of Lawrence commemorated the centennial of the Lawrence Textile Workers' Strike during 2012. The Strikers' Monument was one result. The monument was dedicated on the Lawrence Common on Labor Day of that year. The City Read Program was sponsored by the Lawrence Public Library and funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. It ran from when the strike began in January of that year through May with a variety of activities some of which were aided by the author, Katherine Paterson from Vermont. The five discs: 1. Leading in Lawrence: Striker's Monument interview with Jonas Stundzia and David Meehan (36.08 minutes). 2. Bread and Roses, Too author Katherine Paterson at the Arlington Middle School May 2012 (32.35 minutes). 3. Martin Luther King, Jr. Partham Students remember (15 minutes). 4. Rosa & Jake commercial for Lawrence Reads Bread and Roses, Too author Katherine Paterson interviewed by 4th graders from the South Lawrence East Elementary School (1 minute and 5 minutes). 5. Bread & Roses Mural Project Mr. Allshouse's Painting Class winter 2011-12 (11.45 minutes)
